A new modular multifamily apartment building is set to rise from a corner property located at 400 E. Adams Boulevard, replacing an automobile repair shop. Approved plans involve demolishing the existing garage to make way for a new five-story building featuring 84 studio and one-bedroom apartments, with parking for 42 vehicles. Eight of these apartments are designated as affordable housing for extremely low-income households. The remaining units will be priced to cater to households earning between 120 and 150 percent of the area median income. The project will consist of four levels of prefabricated modular units above a concrete podium.
